FAQs
how are you different from a full service interior designer?
The main differences are the cost and the amount of work done. We’ve frequently found that homeowners are anxious for a custom designed space, taking advantage of all the expertise and creativity that a designer can offer, but they aren’t anxious to pay for some of the services they could do themselves. Ordering products, scheduling tradesmen, and monitoring renovation progress are all services that traditional full service designers often include after they’ve conceived of the ideas, but they are tasks that are fairly straightforward to execute.
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE DESIGNS ONCE WE’RE FINISHED?
Once you have all the resources in hand, you will share them with your chosen general contractor who will take it from there to execute the designs. Their typical process is to review the drawings and selections, do a walkthrough of your home to discuss it with you in detail, then get bids from their subcontractors to compile one large bid for the job. Once you approve that, they’ll work with you to decide a start date and begin demo!
will your designs work in my space?
Yes! We pride ourselves on technical detail and making sure we’re only delivering realizable designs that fit and function for your home. During our process together you will take precise measurements and numerous photos so that we can be sure we’re not suggesting anything that won’t work out.
what if i don’t like the design you present me?
Don’t worry! We will have an initial meeting to get aligned on your vision for the space so that we have a full understanding of what you’ll love AND we allow for one round of edits after we present the full concept to you so that we can tweak anything that didn’t quite hit the mark.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY DESIGNS?
The entire process takes about 4-6 weeks depending on the size of project and complexity of design.
CAN I HIRE YOU TO DO THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT?
Our services encompass the first phases of the typical design process. We onboard, conceptualize with you, and dream up stellar designs utilizing our expertise and creativity. A typical full service design firm will also handle the latter project management phases, which include procuring products and overseeing their installation, but they also charge a large sum for these services. By letting you work alongside your general contractor to manage your own project, you preserve valuable funds which can be put toward your renovation—and ultimately allow for better designs!
how long does a renovation take?
Once all is approved your home can go from a state of demolition to adding final touches in the span of two to four months depending on the contractor and amount of work to be done. This is a generalization and you should defer to your particular contractor’s schedule.
IS THERE A WAY TO SEE material SAMPLES?
Absolutely! You will be provided with a list of all materials we’re selecting with specifics about where they can be purchased. Simply contact the vendors and they can send you samples.
WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVICE?
We can do projects for clients anywhere in the U.S. as all our services are virtual.
